MANUAL: Adjust the EPG time to display the correct time in TiviMate program guide.

Why or when should you adjust the EPG Time in TiviMate?

Sometimes it happens that the time in the EPG (Electronic Program Guide) is not correct. As a result, TV programs are not played at the right time. This inaccuracy can have several causes. One of the reasons may be that the IPTV server does not take daylight saving time into account, which causes a time difference as soon as a switch is made from summer to winter or vice versa. This is 1 of the possible causes, but there are several possible causes.

The good news is that you can easily correct the EPG time in TiviMate Premium yourself, so that the EPG displays the correct time. Follow the steps below to check if the EPG shows the correct time and to adjust it if it is not correct.

Check if your TiviMate displays the correct time in EPG

1.  Check that the EPG shows the correct time. The easiest way to do this is to go to a program that you know at what time it should be played.
In this manual we use the 8 0’clock news in The Netherlands called ‘NOS Journaal 20.00 uur’ to check if the EPG shows the correct time.

2. Go to the ‘NOS Journaal 20.00 uur’ program on channel NPO 1 in a Dutch group or find the television channel using the search option in TiviMate.

Use your remote control and press the select button to the right till you see the program ‘NOS Journaal 20.00 uur’.

Check whether the time in the EPG at which the ‘NOS Journaal 20:00 uur’ starts is correct. The image below shows the start of the ‘NOS Journaal 20.00 uur’ in Curacao, Bonaire, Aruba and St. Maarten with local time stated at 02.00 PM (14.00). This is correct during daylight saving time (summer) because the time difference with The Netherlands is 6 hours. During standard time (winter) the time difference is 5 hours.

In daylight saving time (Summer) the ‘NOS Journaal 20.00 uur‘ must be displayed in the EPG at 02.00 p.m. (14:00) local time

In standard time (Winter) the ‘NOS Journaal 20.00 uur‘ must be displayed in the EPG at 03.00 p.m. (15:00) local time.

If the local time is displayed correctly for the program ‘NOS Journaal 20.00 uur’ (02.00 PM in summer in the Netherlands or 03.00 PM in winter in the Netherlands) you do not need to correct the time of the EPG.
